The company RGS-Bahnsicherheitstechnik GmbH supplies safe level crossings with flashing light signals, barrier drives and level crossing control systems.
The level crossing protection system RGS – LC is an economical level crossing control system which has been specially developed to renovate little used, currently unprotected level crossings.
A particular feature of the system are the flashlights with good all-round visiblity and a warning signal that's audible over a long distance. Using the very latest technology the company has been able to design a modular flashing light system. As a result, the costs involved in adapting the system to specific traffic situations can be kept to a minimum.
The safety concept has been implemented using the multifunctional safety system PNOZmulti. The safety system is very flexible due to its modular design. What’s special: Safety functions are no longer implemented through the wiring but are easy to configure on the PC using the PNOZmulti Configurator.
It's been possible to keep the costs low as the traditional relay logic has been reproduced simply and flexibly with an electronic solution in the form of one single safety system.
If an error occurs, clear diagnostic information enables rapid troubleshooting and reduces downtimes, which is hugely important, particularly with rail travel. That’s why the safety system is also available with the operator and diagnostic device "PMImicro diag".
To increase availability, the flashing light system is fitted with a UPS system. This will provide a safe energy supply in the event of a power failure. Also, the system is constantly monitored dynamically. If the PNOZmulti detects a system error, a message is triggered via the fault indication system. If the flashing light system is not operating correctly, an approaching train can be stopped via the train protection system.
The system can also be extended using barriers, the position of which is monitored using PSENmag.
